Applying to Malta
For those who really want to avoid the drab climates of northern Europe or Canada without having to fly to another hemisphere, Malta has become a popular choice for internships. In 2009, the Malta Foundation Programme was launched. Its operations are based entirely on the same Guidelines and Curriculum as the UK Foundation Programme.

Much like the application process for the UK, applicants are required to undertake a Situational Judgment Test (SJCT). This occurs in November. However, it is set out slightly differently and is divided into Situational Judgment questions (Section A) and Clinical questions (Section B).

The week following the SJCT, applicants will be required to participate in an interview to confirm that you are suitable for the post. It is important that you arrange with the Dean's office adequate time off to be able to stay in Malta for at least a week to undertake this exam and the interview.

Unfortunately, students from the 4-year program may have trouble applying to Malta as the course does not meet their ECTS requirements. Some students have gotten around this, but in 2018 they were unable to.
